Interfaith Learning

·         Interfaith Dialogue Series designed to understand our neighbours better started in 2009 and continues in 2010:  Introduction to Judaism on 3 Monday evenings in June, and fall visits to a Zoroastrian Temple, a Sikh Gurdwara, and a Hindu Temple.  A panel discussion on Abraham in Judiasm, Christianity and Islam at Har Zion may lead to an ongoing interfaith dialogue.  The annual Peace Meal is hosted by Jaffari Islamis Centre.   To date we have had a very successful three session Islamic Series with speakers from the neighbouring Jaffari Centre and a tour of their new facilities; and a tour and talk at the Cham Shan Buddhist Temple.  Join us!

Check your event calendar to see when the next session will be held - through our affiliation with the MOSAIC Interfaith group, we are offered tours on Sunday afternoons in Lent.

Ecumenical Lenten Worship Series - 4pm for 5 Sundays in Lent, we visited a different church in our area and hear a different preacher from yet another neighbouring congregation - this year the series theme was 'From Loneliness to Love' - TUC hosted on February 28, with Paul Gibbon preaching - Bill Bruce spoke on March 7 at Thornhill Presbyterian, with the Hills Church worship team leading the service, and we ended with a great joint choir at St Luke's Roman Catholic church.  Watch for a repeat in Lent 2011!
